The More. The Merrier.

Once upon a time, our mothers always told us, "Less is more" or "Always remove one accessory before leaving the house" Well these days, the exact opposite applies. Especially with jewelry! Obviously we couldn't be happier about this. One of our favorite looks that at least one of us is wearing on a daily basis is the layered bracelet. Here are three trendy springtime looks that you can easily work into any outfit.

On Trend: The Tribal Necklace

Instantly make an impact this spring with a striking tribal necklace. Opt for pieces that are grand in size and have ethnic accents, whether its metal, stones, beads, or a combination of all. Wear by day with a colored jean and tee, or dress up with a long maxi dress for night. You can't go wrong with the tribal.

Moodboard: Electric Color

This spring make a bold statement with bright bursts of electric color. Keep your look fresh by mixing unexpected colors, try pink with orange or turquoise with royal blue. For a more subtle approach, add in a punch of color through accessories, or balance out with a neutral color like white, khaki, or a metallic.

Yamamoto at the V&A

On Saturday at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the 30 year retrospective of Yohji Yamamoto's work was debuted. An expansive look at an iconic career that has helped define a generation in fashion, the exhibit showcases 80 looks by the designer.  Charcoal sketches by Peter Seville are also on display with a focus on the female back, a part of the body that has always fascinated Yamamoto, and a collection of accessories designed by Yamamoto that guests couldn't wait to get their hands on in the gift shop. Running through the 10th of July, this is by far one of the exhibits we would most love to see this year.

The V&A's blog has published a truly awe inspiring account of the preparation of the installation and a behind the scenes look into some of his most fantastic work. You can also check out a great interview with Ligaya Salazar, the curator for the show at Elle.com.

Mrs. O

Last week our first lady donned a House of Lavande pin while reading to a group of youngsters at the National Education Association's read across America kickoff! This is in part thanks to the newest member of her team, Meredith Koop. Recently given the title of personal assistant, Meredith assists Mrs. Obama with finding key pieces for her wardrobe, and styling them to perfection! We love her keen eye for mixing colors and prints, and helping to make the first lady look oh-so-fabuous!
